First Annual Bookstravaganza

Waking to a rain filled sky on Tuesday morning didn't stop me from being excited for the first annual Bookstravaganza.  Hosted by Random House Canada and Chatelaine; approximately 100 women (and men) met at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto, Ontario to preview the latest in fiction, non-fiction, mystery and memoir.

Hoping aboard the Go-train (my only way to travel into the city) I had plans to meet Kaley (from Books, Etc) at Union Station and together we walked to the Ritz.  Do you realize how many times I said 'I'm going to The Ritz tonight' on Tuesday?  It made me feel so fancy!!  LOL

As we stepped off the elevator, we were greeted by the wonderful staff from Random House and I saw some very familiar and friendly faces - Lindsey and Adria.   We signed in and receive our raffle ticket (turns out we were in the WRONG line because not a single number was called from our roll of tickets).

Moving along, we were able to sample some new, amazing lip gloss from Bourjois; grab a yummy drink (the Miss. Chatelaine) and fill up at the Candy Bar!  Yep... a CANDY BAR!!

Inside the ballroom, Kaley and I picked a table and settled in to a great evening of laughter, cheering and smiles.  Being a book-lover in a room of like-minded individuals (Michele from Just A Lil' Lost; Brenna from Esther's Ever After; and many other fellow bloggers) I was in heaven.

To end the event, we were able to attend the meet and greet with authors Shauna Singh Baldwin and Annabel Lyon as well as take home signed copies of each of their newest releases!  YAY!! 

Leaving 'The Ritz' with a stuffed SWAG bag was just the cherry on the top and really the perfect ending to an amazing event!
