THIS summer, neons are all the rage and I have been all over the place to add them to my polish collection. Last night, I painted my nails in a China Glaze neon colour and loved it... I have the same colour on my toes, from my last pedicure and it just glows!
This afternoon, I couldn't believe how horrible my nails looked after less than 24-hours.
My days are pretty tame... I shower and drive to work. I work on a computer but no more so than normal days so that can't be a judge as most polish holds up significantly better than this. I can actually see air bubbles under the polish that is still on my fingers... it is almost like the bond isn't there. My toes seem fine, although they were originally done by a salon but with the same colour. I added an additional coat on the big toes as I noticed a couple of chips after a week.
Is it just me? Have you used this polish before and had these horrible results? I just feel that for $7.99 a bottle (sometimes more depending on where you get it), it should last at least a couple of days, right?!?
Anyways, vent over and off to buy OPI and Essie polishes!

Oh, dear...thanks for the heads-up. I've never tried "China Glaze" myself. But, OPI is awesome and in so many different shades. I'm not a girly-girl either, but I'm a sucker for nailpolish and perfume. Your post has definitely inspired me to repaint in a different colour...though neon is a bit brash for me. I'm more a neutral colour person when it comes to my nails. The most I'll do is a sharp red! Hope your next coat is more successful than you last, BFFFB!!
ReplyDeleteI've never used that stuff, but I've never had results like that, even with a cheap polish!!! I do use a bonder pre-coat by Orly that's supposed to help the polish "stick" to your nails better, though!!!
ReplyDeleteReally? I love China Glaze and have never had a problem with them. I have noticed that it will last long on my toes than my nails. With the air bubbles, you might have to much moisture/oil on your hands. wash them really good and dry the heck out of them. I have oily nails sometimes so that use to be a problem with me.
