I know, I know... you are all reading this and thinking I am insane. Who can read for an entire 24-hours? Well, I may not make it without a nap (or two) and without becoming cross-eyed, but I am in it to win it! Luckily I am not alone in my craziness! When I signed up (link here) to participate, I was 122nd on the list. That's right... there will be at least 121 other crazy people keeping me company on this read-a-thon.
Okay, here are a few more details about this year's read-a-thon that you may want to know.
1) The read-a-thon will run from Saturday, April 21st to Sunday, April 22nd (see start times for your area)
2) Throughout the entire read-a-thon, there will be a number of mini-challenges that readers can particpate in. These can range anywhere from posting book trailers for your favourite novels to talking about your book crushes. They are all optional and only help in breaking up the reading. (to host a mini-challenge, sign up here)3) The books that you choose to read are completely up to you. You can pick ebooks, hardcovers, paperbacks, comic books or even short stories and poetry.
4) If you can't participate but wish you could, you can sign up to be a cheerleader. You will be given an hour in which you will be cheering on the participants through comments/tweets and help keep us all motivated. (sign up here to be a cheerleader)
That's it really... so, as the date approaches, keep you eye on this spot as I will be making my list of books that I want to read as well as what I am sure will be an epic 'ready' list full of food, drinks, etc!
This will be my 3rd time participating in Dewey's RAT! It's a lot of fun :)
